Technical Focus Group 2010

Call for Speakers

Hand Drawing Flowchart The 2010 Technical Focus Group (TFG) event will take place at the ACI Offices in Watford, UK from Monday 8th to Wednesday 10th November.

The EBUG Committee are now putting together the agenda for this event and are looking for speakers and subjects for presentations. We would like to include a number of customer case studies which will look at your operational/project experiences with BASE24 and BASE24-eps. If you have a story or information which you would be willing to share with your EBUG colleagues, please contact EBUG TFG. Speakers are entitled to attend the whole event free of charge.

We plan to use part of the agenda to focus on PCI compliance and to learn more on BASE24-eps migration, customisation and operations. There will also be product updates and interactive sessions on, for example, the Retail Product Advisory Board and on 'living with compensating controls for PCI'. We would welcome other suggestions so, if there is a topic you would like to see included in the agenda, please let us know at EBUG TFG.

Webinars

'Your Issues Co-hosted by EBUG and ACI'

EBUG Webinars EBUG plan to set up a series of quarterly webinars, co-hosted with ACI, and are looking for suggestions for suitable topics.

What key issues do you have that you believe are shared across the user base and that would be suitable for a webinar? We can pull together the right people to help you get the answers you need. Please contact EBUG with your suggestions.

Madrid 2010

Hotel Puerta America, Madrid, April 27-30 2010

Beyond The Sunset Madrid April 2010 The 2010 Annual Conference was held at the Hotel Puerta America in Madrid from 27th to 30th April. Presentations are available here for delegates only. A summary of the ACI Q&A session has been posted in the Member Area.

The theme of the conference was Beyond the Sunset. The Agenda was packed with great information and speakers, including industry topics, customer case studies and a full update on ACI products.

Our thanks to everyone who took time out from their busy work schedules and made the effort during a particularly difficult period to join us in Madrid and help to create what was regarded by everyone present as a real success. Even a volcano cannot stop EBUG! Special thanks to ACI for their full support and to all of our other partners and sponsors.

BASE24 Sunset Survey & ACI Response

ACI Response in Member Area

An EBUG survey of members' views on ACI's plans for the 'sunsetting' of BASE24 and the migration to BASE24-eps was carried out over several months around the end of 2008 and early 2009. The results were presented to the Customer-Only session at the Annual Conference in Prague. A similar survey was conducted by our Americas counterpart user group ACE and presented at the ACE conference in Washington 31 May to 3 June.

The results of both the EBUG and ACE US surveys and the response from ACI can now be reviewed in the Member Area. A password is required and access is restricted to EBUG members only. If you have not been notified of the password, please contact EBUG.

Future of EBUG Survey

The Membership View

Recently, there has been a debate about the future of the user group. Various options were discussed, from combining all products and regions into a single global conference to bringing more products into a regional conference. ACI also proposed to take a role in the organisation of EBUG, with customers sitting on product advisory boards. An email outlining these possibilities and a survey link were sent out in early July.

The results of this survey reinforced the view of the Committee that EBUG should continue to operate independently but that we should make every effort to incorporate other product groups into the annual conference. The full results can now be reviewed in the Member Area.

New Member Area

Committee Minutes, Survey Results and Reports

EBUG are pleased to announce that there is now a Member Area on the site - see new tab above or click on the Top Secret logo. This is restricted to the EBUG membership only and is password-protected. If you have not been notified of the password, please contact EBUG.

EBUG Committee minutes, survey results, reports, key correspondence and other documentation will be posted here. We hope that this resource will help to improve communications between the committee and the membership. Don't forget that this process does not have to be one way! You are welcome to join the committee, offer suggestions, ask questions or share your knowledge with your EBUG colleagues. Just get in touch.

What is EBUG?

An Independent, Customer-Run User Group

EBUG is an independent user group, for customers who have licensed products from ACI Worldwide. The primary role of EBUG is to promote communication within the user community and between the user community and ACI.

The EBUG executive committee, which any member may join, runs regular events including an annual conference in April or May and a technical seminar in October or November.

The benefits of belonging to EBUG include:
  • Sharing thoughts and ideas with other users and industry experts;
  • Learning of other customers' experiences in implementing projects that your organisation may be engaged in;
  • Exerting a collective influence on the direction of ACI products;
The full objectives and the rules of the organisation are set out in the Bylaws, which are available to members on request to EBUG.
