Chairman's Note
Site Updated 26/04/08

It is easy at times to become totally focused on the here and now. I am as guilty of this as the next person. It is like looking at life through a microscope with no sense of anything outside the view of the lens. My day job draws me to this way of being without me realising. However, every now and then it is good to step back and look at the whole scene, to see how your part fits into the bigger picture and to look at roadmaps and all the rest of it. Myself and the rest of the EBUG committee had one of these moments at the last committee meeting where we had to ask - "What is EBUG for?" or conversely, "If EBUG didn't exist, what would we (as customers of ACI) be missing?".
Well, you will be pleased to hear that a worthy discussion ensued and many valid points were made. However, the committee represents a small fraction of the EBUG customer base and I would like to hear what you all think. Send me your thoughts and comments on what you get out of EBUG to Chairman@ebug.net.
As you can see under the 'Events' tab, this years conference in Vienna is fast approaching. I hope you have the words to 'Edelweiss' remembered.... As always there will be differences to this conference from last year in terms of layout, structure, content etc. However the big change I would like to see is in the growth of delegates from customer organisations that do not normally attend. Unfortunately, EBUG does not know who these organisations are, but you might. If you know of another organisation in your geography that is an ACI customer but does not attend, then let EBUG know so that we can make an approach. The more customers there are represented at EBUG events, the better the show will be for all customers. Email EBUG at Info@ebug.net.
This website changed on 5th Feb and I hope you think it is for the better. I think it portrays a more professional face and is more suitable for folks that are new to EBUG and don't know what we do. If you have any comments or requests then get in touch Webmaster@ebug.net.Regards
Justin Sylvester
EBUG Chairman
